9 things you should never plug into a power strip

How do I know what the power of each device is? This information is usually noted on every electrical appliance. For example, if your power strip tolerates a maximum power of 3500 W and you connect an oven (2500 W), a vacuum cleaner (800 W) and a kettle (250 W), you will exceed 3500 W (2500 + 800 + 250 = 3550 W). In this case, disconnect one of the electrical devices from the power strip to stay below the maximum power threshold. Otherwise, it can be very dangerous. Now, let’s look at the devices that shouldn’t be plugged into a power strip.

1. The oven: One of the most energy-intensive household appliances. Provide an individual power outlet to avoid dangerous overheating.

2. The refrigerator: Consumes power all the time, it’s best to plug it into a power outlet to prevent the extension cord from overheating.

3. The washing machine: Consumes a lot of electricity (an average of 1150 kWh per year), not recommended for a power strip.

4. Additional heating: Connect directly to a power outlet to avoid overloading the power strip.

5. The microwave:

5. The microwave: Consumes energy, avoid connecting it to an extension cord.

6. The coffee maker: If you’re starving for electricity, plug it into an electrical outlet.

7. The toaster: Consumes between 500 and 1000 W per year, avoid power strips.

8. Another extension cord: Connecting multiple extension cords can quickly exceed the maximum power strip of the power strip and cause fires.
