Can you solve this test?

It resembles a symmetrically cut cake. A circle, four straight lines intersecting in the middle, and a simple, handwritten question: “How many triangles?” « Simple, right? And yet… This small visual puzzle that circulates through the nets at high speed will be a challenge for even the most attentive minds. Are you ready to take on the challenge?

The perfect trap for our logical brain

If you look at this picture, the answer is usually immediately clear: 8 triangles, very simple. Normal: We can clearly see 8 triangular segments, like the pieces of a cake. Hop, fall shut!

But not too fast… This challenge responds precisely to this first reflex. For under the innocent appearance, the image is in reality a play of perspectives and visual combinations. A puzzle that requires patience… and good powers of observation.

On closer inspection…

Let’s look at it differently. The circle is actually divided by four straight lines that meet in the middle, forming eight triangular parts. That’s our starting point.

But take a closer look: these small triangles can be combined with each other to form larger figures. At this point, the story becomes much more complex (and challenging!)
