Ingredients
5–6 dried bay leaves ( or a handful of fresh ones )
11/2 cups distilled water
1 tablespoon witch hazel ( optional – for an extra firming effect)
2-3 drops of tea tree oil or lavender essential oil ( optional – for acne-prone or sensitive skin )
A glass spray bottle or a clean container for storage
Preparation
Bring water to a boil : Bring 11/2 cups of distilled water to a boil in a small saucepan.
Add bay leaves : Add the bay leaves to the boiling water and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Cool and let steep: Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool completely while the bay leaves continue to steep ( approx. 20 minutes ).
Strain: Once cooled , strain the liquid into a clean bowl or measuring cup.
Refine ( optional): Add witch hazel and/or a few drops of essential oil if needed. Stir gently .
Filling: Pour your finished bay leaf toner into a spray bottle or other container. Store in the refrigerator for freshness.
