This recipe is beginner-friendly and requires very little prep.
Step 1: Prepare the Bread
Trim the crusts from the bread slices if you prefer a softer roll-up. Flatten each slice using a rolling pin or the bottom of a glass. This helps the bread roll easily and stay sealed.
Step 2: Add the Filling
Place a small amount of grated cheese in the center of each bread slice. Don’t overfill—too much cheese can leak out during cooking.
Step 3: Roll
Tightly roll the bread around the cheese. Press gently along the seam to help it stay closed.
Step 4: Brush
Lightly brush the outside of each roll with butter or oil. This helps create a crispy, golden finish in the air fryer.
Step 5: Air Fry
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (360°F).
Place the roll-ups seam-side down in the basket, leaving space between each one.
Air fry for 6–8 minutes, turning once halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Tips for Best Results in the Air Fryer
Don’t overcrowd the basket—airflow is key
Flip halfway for even browning
Use medium heat to prevent burning
Let them rest for 1–2 minutes before eating (cheese will be hot)
Every air fryer is slightly different, so check early the first time you make them.
Cheese Options (Use What You Have)
This recipe works with almost any cheese:
Mozzarella for stretchy, melty centers
Cheddar for a bold, rich flavor
Processed cheese slices if that’s what’s available
Mixed cheeses for extra flavor
Even leftover cheese scraps can be used.
