How to get rid of food moths from your cupboard?

  1. Take out all the food products and examine them: small white worms, fine webs, suspicious smell? Throw them away immediately.
  2. Carefully vacuum shelves, joints, and corners of cupboards.
  3. Clean with a mixture of hot water and white vinegar: a natural disinfectant whose smell also helps keep them away.
  4. Pheromone traps, your discreet ally

To capture the remaining moths, place specific sticky traps in the cupboards. They attract males thanks to pheromones (harmless to humans) and prevent their reproduction.

Tip: Change them every 3 to 6 weeks to maintain their effectiveness.

    Repelling moths naturally

Once the cleaning is done, it’s time for natural prevention:

    • Essential oils (lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus): place a few drops on a cotton pad or cloth placed in the cupboard.
    • Bay leaves: they give off a natural scent that moths hate. Slip it into your jars, drawers, or even directly into bags of rice or cereal, as long as they are tightly closed.
