Pizza Dough:
Mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let stand for 10 minutes. Then add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until smooth and let rise for about 45 minutes.
Shaping the rolls:
Once the dough has risen, divide it into 8-10 pieces. Shape into balls and flatten them slightly. Spread with tomato sauce, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and let rest for 10 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for approximately 12–15 minutes, until golden brown. Preparing the burgers:
Mix the meat with the spices and form small patties – approximately the size of pizza buns. Fry in a pan with a little oil for 2–3 minutes on each side.
Assembling the mini burgers:
On one half of a pizza bun, place a patty, onion, cucumber, and your favorite sauce. Cover with the second pizza bun.
Serving and storage tips:
You don’t have to serve the mini burgers right away – they can be reheated in the oven or in a dry pan.
They are perfect as finger food for parties – they can be served on toothpicks.
Store in the refrigerator, tightly closed, for up to 2 days. Reheat before serving.
Variants:
Vegetarian version: Instead of meat, use chickpea or lentil cutlets.
Spicy version: Add chili pepper to the meat or sprinkle hot pepper on the pizza bun.
Italian touch: Add basil and oregano to the dough and capers or olives to the sauce.
