2. Cooking the Camembert
- Place the Camembert in the center of the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until it is piping hot, runny and golden brown on the surface.
- Keep an eye on the cooking: an overcooked Camembert could collapse, if undercooked, it will lack creaminess.
Tip: For an even more golden crust, place the cheese under the oven grill for 2-3 minutes at the end of cooking.
3. Prepare the toasted baguette fingers
- While the Camembert is cooking, slice the baguette diagonally to form wide “fingers” that are easy to dip.
- Generously brush each slice with olive oil on both sides.
- Heat a pan over medium heat or turn on your grill.
- Toast the baguette slices until golden brown and crispy. Keep warm in a tea towel.
Tip: Lightly rub the grilled slices with half a clove of garlic for a more intense flavor.
4. Service and presentation
- Take the Camembert out of the oven, place it (still in its box or dish) on a large plate.
- Wrap it with toasted baguette fingers and serve immediately, piping hot.
- Suggest dipping the pieces of bread into the melted cheese, and let everyone help themselves.
- Add a few sprigs of thyme or an extra drizzle of honey for decoration and extra sweetness.
