Regular maintenance of the oven is a must for any self-respecting kitchen. Not only does this extend the life of your appliance, but it also ensures healthy and efficient cooking. So how can you combat stubborn grease and burnt-on residue without resorting to harsh chemicals? Fortunately, there are simple and environmentally friendly solutions.
Baking powder and vinegar
The duo of baking soda and vinegar is a classic when it comes to environmentally friendly cleaning.
What happens next?
Mix half a cup of baking soda with a few tablespoons of water to make a thick paste. The consistency must be thick enough to stick to the oven walls.
Spread the dough on the inner surfaces of the oven, avoiding any heating elements.
Leave on for at least an hour, or even overnight for more stubborn dirt.
After the exposure time, clean the paste with a damp cloth.
Then spray a solution of water and white vinegar (equal parts) on the remaining residue. The vinegar reacts with the remaining baking soda, which makes the final cleaning easier.
