After reading this tip, you will never throw away old orchids again.

Orchids are often considered delicate and capricious. When they appear dried out, many people think it’s too late and throw them away. But even an orchid that seems to be dying can be restored to its full glory with proper care. So how can you tell the difference between a truly lost plant and one that’s dormant? And, more importantly, what steps should you take to revive it?

Why does your orchid look dead?

Before jumping to conclusions, it’s important to understand why your orchid      is showing signs of weakness     . In their natural habitat, these exotic plants cling to trees and absorb moisture. Indoors, a lack of care can disrupt this balance. Too much water, too little light, or inappropriate soil can      weaken the plant beyond recognition     .      But don’t worry, all hope is not lost!

Signs that the orchid can still be saved

Don’t rely solely on wilted leaves! Instead, check:

  • Roots:      If they are green or white and firm, your orchid is alive. If they are brown and soft, they are rotten and should be cut off.
  • Stem (or pseudobulb):      If it is still firm and not hollow, the plant can be saved.
  • Dormant buds:      Sometimes they are not visible to the naked eye, but under favorable conditions they can awaken.

If your orchid is showing signs of life, follow the steps below to revive it!
