What happens in your body 30 minutes after drinking cola

Why stop drinking Coca-Cola?

Think about it. After exercise, you might crave a Coca-Cola or a cold beer, but you’ll realize it doesn’t provide the same intense pleasure as water. Water is the most pleasurable when you’re truly thirsty, just as it is when you’re hungry—for example, during a long mountain hike—there’s nothing better than a sausage you won’t touch after returning home and going about your daily routine. But it’s not just about pleasure. Drinking water will reduce your intake of all the harmful substances found in carbonated beverages, starting with:

  • phosphoric acid, which disrupts calcium metabolism and causes osteoporosis and softening of teeth and bones;
  • sugar – a factor causing diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic inflammation, osteoarthritis, cancer;
  • Aspartame: There are over 92 side effects associated with aspartame consumption, including brain tumors, epilepsy, emotional fragility, diabetes;
  • Caffeine, which causes tremors, insomnia, headaches, hypertension, demineralization and vitamin loss.

Not to mention, Coca-Cola’s acidity is devastating for your teeth. Have you ever noticed how rough your teeth feel after drinking Coca-Cola? It’s more acidic than lemon juice and can be used to clean metal coins (just leave a dirty 50-cent coin in a glass of Coca-Cola for half an hour). Your enamel becomes porous, yellowish, and grayish when you drink Coca-Cola frequently, and this is a consequence. Finally, it goes without saying that it contributes to obesity: especially in children, soda consumption increases the risk by 60%. There’s no reason to give children soda unless you want to…

  • increase the risk of developing diabetes;
  • increase the risk of cancer;
  • to make them addicted to sugar.

Here’s a great way to save money in these challenging times: stop reaching for sugary drinks. And learn to drink water again: start your day with a large glass of water, even before breakfast. You’ll be doing your kidneys a huge favor, as they work hard cleansing your blood all day long. They’ll be healthier, cleaner, and you’ll feel better.

To your health!

    My husband won’t leave the Coke. What should I do? Please help me!

      You can definitely replace cola with delicious fruit smoothies; the recipes are endless. You can add raw cacao, carob, lucuma, mesquite, baobab powder, and other superfoods! This way, a drink that’s damaging your health becomes one that improves it! Honestly, a good date smoothie tastes better than those chemically enhanced sodas…

    Thank you for this very informative article. While I don’t drink cola regularly, I do enjoy it occasionally. I’m thinking about cutting it out completely, just as I’ve drastically reduced my coffee intake to about once every two weeks. I grew up on water and always had, and still do, that feeling of pure refreshment when I drink it. I love water; it’s a real pleasure to drink!

    I’ve been soda-free for almost a few months now, and I now feel less addicted to sugar.
    As a passionate athlete, I quickly realized that water is the best solution.
    Thank you to Jean-Marc Dupuis for his continued support in the fight against bad soda.

    Yes, it’s nothing new, but you simply MUST put it into practice and drink less sugar. Don’t think it’s just Coca-Cola, but it’s the same, if not worse, with other sweet carbonated drinks from the same brand and competitors. At one point, I thought that “ice teas,” to avoid naming names, had MORE sugar than Coca-Cola… sigh… So thank you for this article, because without these types of products, we don’t burden our brains, but above all, we don’t function.
    I try to drink as little sugar as possible; I drink enough in the morning to last all day. But it’s not easy; sometimes you have a drink, oh, that tastes good, and what you just drank is actually a can of… Coca-Cola.
    Carbonated water, for me, stimulates the appetite, so I use it, even if the carbon dioxide level isn’t ideal.

      Most of what’s written here is true. Coca-Cola is poison. However, one can a week won’t do any serious harm.
