Yogurt Cloud Cake: A Light and Fluffy Recipe

Ingredients for a Yogurt Cloud Cake (8 to 10 slices)

Recipe base

  • Plain yogurt  : 1 pot (125 g) (use the pot as a measure for the rest of the ingredients).
  • Sugar  : 2 jars (adjust according to your sweetness preference).
  • Flour  : 3 pots (type T55 or T45 for a very soft cake).
  • Vegetable oil  : ½ jar (sunflower oil or a neutral oil to keep the taste light).
  • Eggs  : 3 (preferably at room temperature for optimal texture).
  • Baking powder  : 1 sachet (approximately 10 g).
  • Vanilla extract  : 1 tablespoon (for a subtle and delicious flavor).
  • Salt  : A pinch (to enhance the flavors).

For additional flavorings (optional)

  • Lemon zest  : 1 (for a fresh and tangy note).
  • Icing sugar  : To sprinkle on the cake once cooled.

Step 1: Preparing the Mold and Oven

  1. Preheat the oven  :
    • Preheat your oven to  180°C  (350°F). This temperature is ideal for even baking and maintaining the cake’s airy texture.
  2. Prepare the mold  :
    • Generously butter a round or square mold about  20 cm in diameter , then lightly dust with flour or place a disc of baking paper on top to make it easier to remove.
